Program Details
Academic Subject Certificate (12 credits) will provide students with a strong foundation in geohistorical, cultural, and global connections. This certificate will provide a general foundation for a career in teaching, the travel industry, the service industry, and other fields such as health and law, and will encourage students to attend a four-year college in the University of Hawaii system or transfer to a mainland college. Global Studies: Academic Subject Certificate (18-20 credits) builds upon the strengths of our Hawaiian and multiethnic communities in the Pacific. The purpose of this certificate is to prepare students to meet the challenges of an interconnected and interdependent world as globally conscious and internationally engaged citizens. Requirements for the Certificate of Achievement
The time to complete the certificates or the degree varies from one to four semesters. To obtain the associate degree in two years, you have to take an average of 15 credits/semester.
